Northern Artillery Appointed to Handle Vivid Online Experience

The Leeds agency won the brief following a competitive pitch process last year

A Leeds based creative production agency has contributed significantly to a £15m digital transformation project with one of the south coast’s largest providers of affordable homes.

Serving 74,000 customers and with circa 35,000 homes under management across Hampshire, West Sussex, Surrey and Berkshire, VIVID selected Northern Artillery to handle all of its website user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) requirements.

  • The team has also been tasked with technical development of a new customer interface. The work was awarded in late 2023 following a competitive pitch process.

Benefitting from intuitive design, a key requirement to satisfy the variety of VIVID’s customer base, the newly-developed front-end was created in-house at Northern Artillery’s Leeds headquarters. Cost efficiencies were achieved by building browser-based components that can be incorporated into external third-party systems and by composing new features that utilise dynamic customer data.

To facilitate collaborative working both during project delivery and in future, Northern Artillery also developed a delivery system that can be shared with third parties to facilitate the website’s onward development if needed.

Commenting on the project, Fiona Harris, Chief Information and Data Officer, VIVID said: “The result of our work with Northern Artillery is a successful digital transformation of the customer experience. The new self-serve customer portal helps our customers to have greater control over their home and services but also enables us to deliver those services easier and quicker.

  • “Working with Northern Artillery showcases their considerable expertise in creating user-centric solutions that have enabled us to improve how we support our customers and what they can access themselves.”

Liam Grogan, Director at Northern Artillery, said: “We are delighted to have worked alongside VIVID to deliver an exceptional user experience for the thousands of customers who rely on its digital platforms to manage every-day essential activities relating to their homes.

“These kinds of projects always give us great satisfaction because we know it makes a positive difference, no matter how small, to people’s lives.”
