Publicis Health UK is welcoming two new Managing Directors to lead the team

Publicis Health UK has appointed two new Group Managing Directors for Langland.

Katie McMorran and Clare Middleton will both be reporting to Victoria Wright, Chief Executive Officer, Publicis Health UK. The new appointments follow three years of growth for Langland since merging four disciplines under one agency brand in 2020.

Katie will be taking the lead on the Langland Advertising practice and Clare will lead the Clinical Trial Experience, Medical Strategy & Education and Public Relations sectors.

Commenting on the appointments, CEO Victoria said: “I am thrilled to be able to share the news of this powerhouse pairing. Katie and Clare are integral to Langland’s success and their ability to think further for our clients and our people is what makes them so unique.

“Working closely together they will be able to pursue opportunities for continued client growth, product and team development in an agile way. I am looking forward to seeing what the future holds with them at the reins.”

In her new role, Katie will also be adding Saatchi & Saatchi Wellness (SSW) to her portfolio, becoming the overall Advertising lead for Publicis Health UK. She will work closely with both the Langland and SSW leadership teams to ensure the two agency brands deliver what clients need – sector-defining, powerful, and effective creative communications.

  • Katie said: “I am excited to lead two incredible agencies that have an unrivalled heritage of developing creative ideas that redefine categories and drive change.

“Under my stewardship, the amazing teams we have at both Langland and Saatchi & Saatchi Wellness will be able to pivot and pull in experts from across the UK Health Practice and Groupe to create that ‘aha’-inducing work – enabling us all to thrive.”

Clare added: “Langland’s core principle is the power of perspectives – building multidisciplinary teams that can challenge, support, and strengthen each other. We know this is essential for our clients too – they need help breaking internal silos and we are the agency to lead that change.

  • “We have been on that journey for the past three years, with partnership projects between our disciplines in areas such as site engagement, investigator meetings, patient engagement, medical thought leadership and complex science storytelling.

“As I bring our teams even closer together, I am excited to capture the other opportunities we know are out there.”

Katie takes this role after over 25 years in the advertising industry. In this time, she has worked within network agencies in board positions as well as client side. She also set up a private mental health company that continues to lead its sector in the UK. Since joining Publicis Health in 2015 she has successfully led the move from Publicis Life Brands into Langland and delivered year-on-year growth.

Clara takes on this position after 17 years in the industry, having started her career at Resolute Communications working across both public relations and medical education. She took on a leadership role at Real Science (within Publicis Health) in 2017, leading the team successfully before uniting two medical education offerings to form Langland’s Medical Strategy & Education practice in 2020.
