The independent agency hires UK team and launches with founding client Vauxhall/Opel

A celebrated international agency network is opening the doors to its first UK branch.

Jung von Matt, the agency behind award-winning work for MINI, adidas, BMW, Zealand, Bosch and Hyundai, expanded the company to the UK with a London office. The London team will be working with founding client Vauxhall/Opel with a campaign for the Corsa, which is set to launch later this month.

The agency has assembled a UK team, led by Managing Director Rob Conibear together with Executive Creative Directors Charlie Hurst and Marcos Gemal. Rob is a former Group Brand Director at 72andSunny Amsterdam and Business Director at M&C Saatchi, Charlie is formerly of Lucky Generals, and Marcos brings experience from the top agencies across three continents, with his most recent work being at Widen+Kennedy and Mother.

JVM opens in London next month

The team will be based out of an office in Shoreditch set to open in November.

Conibear said: “Jung von Matt is still 100% independent and you can feel that in the culture. There is a freedom to explore new ways to get to great work. We’re excited to be adding a London point of view to that. We are looking for brands that are at a pivot point and genuinely want to change.”

Jung von Matt Chief Creative Officers Daniel Schaefer and Szymon Rose added: “To open up shop in London is just the logical next step for us as an agency. It’s such a hotbed for creative thinking and a second-to-none talent pool that it’s kind of unbelievable that we haven’t done this before. Having worked there for many years, we’re super excited to bring some of that London energy to the Jung von Matt family.”

Founded in 1991 in Hamburg, Jung von Matt now has 34 offices in 10 countries including the US, China, South Korea as well as numerous European territories.

Jung von Matt has also been awarded Independent Agency of the Year in Cannes twice.
