AI WHISPERERS: “How We’re Using AI to Rethink Recruitment”

topline infoRmation

In the agency space, hiring has become overwhelming, with roles attracting hundreds of candidates. And thanks to AI, as Alex puts it, “everyone on paper is a perfect candidate.”

So instead of trying to outsmart AI, the agency decided to use it to its advantage. This turned into a recruitment tool, Origin Assess, which helps the agency assess who can help the agency grow and develop.

👉 In this session, Alex will take us through how he realised AI could help with the increasingly difficult task of recruitment, how he started with vibe coding a prototype, and how they’re now using it inside the agency.

ABOUT THE EVENT

In the agency space, hiring has become overwhelming, with roles attracting hundreds of candidates. And thanks to AI, as Alex puts it, “everyone on paper is a perfect candidate.”

The usual things – CVs, cover letters, even written tasks – have all started to lose meaning, becoming a sea of polished, AI-generated mush.

So instead of trying to outsmart AI, the agency decided to use it to its advantage.

“We’d been looking at building an AI solution to the problem for quite a while,” says Alex.

The result is Origin Assess, a tool designed to cut through the recruitment noise. It pulls everything from CVs and portfolios to interview transcripts, using AI to help the team decide what actually matters – not whether someone looks good on paper, but whether they will genuinely help grow the business and drive it forward.

At the core are five traits the team have developed: spark, clarity, uplift, drive and anchoring. These are used to assess whether someone is the right fit.

And crucially, it doesn’t replace the human touch; it creates more space for it.

“If anything, it gives us more time to spend on that side of things,” says Alex.

“We can focus more on conversations, instincts and ultimately, gut feel.”

👉 In this session, Alex will take us through how he realised AI could help with the increasingly difficult task of recruitment, how he started with vibe coding a prototype, and how they’re now using it inside the agency.
