“Agencies are like sharks,” an agency mentor said. “If they stop moving and adapting, they die.”
Right now, a lot of agencies feel like they’re swimming hard and getting nowhere. Constantly in motion, juggling pitches, projects, and people – but not necessarily moving forward in the way they’d hoped.
Everyone’s busy. An agency leader told me that she’s always firefighting: “I have no nice, pleasant drives anymore. It’s always filled with potholes.”
She’d been stretched across too many roles, unable to fully step back and look at the full picture of the agency.
Another Founder said: “I feel stuck in these repetitive, unfulfilling operational work. I’m too stuck in the weeds, to focus on strategic growth.”
I discussed this problem with an agency mentor. “The biggest issue is often you as the Founder.” He said. “They’re doing the same thing, year after year, but you’re doing nothing about it.”
At the Agency Growth Summit, we’ll give you the perspective you need for scaling and/or exit. We’ll discuss:
- How do you grow profitably when the pressure is increasing?
- How do you move from “firefighter to founder” without everything falling apart?
- How do you make your agency more attractive to acquisition?
Because staying alive as an agency isn’t just about constant motion.
It’s about knowing when to change direction, when to go deeper, and when to let go of what’s holding you in place.

The Future of Agencies Is Leading, Not Being Led
Dominic McGregor believes agencies need to stop selling “cardboard boxes” like posts, ads, or outputs, and start selling impact.
Drawing on Social Chain’s rise from startup to global agency, he argues that consultative selling, sharper positioning, stronger specialism, and the confidence to lead clients are what will define the agency of the future.

How to Prepare Yourself for Growth, Follow all the Advice, and Live to Regret Every bit of it
Jonathan Ford shares a candid agency founder’s warning story about succession, growth, and culture. After bringing in advisers and a Group CEO to prepare Pearlfisher for its next stage, things quickly veered off course.
His session explores what happens when founders ignore their instincts, outsource judgement, and forget that culture must be protected as part of growth.

The 12 Levers of Agency Value
Peter Czapp shares new BenchPress data revealing the 12 levers that increase an agency’s value.
Drawing on real deals from the past year, he explains how profit, growth, recurring revenue, client concentration, IP, and founder dependency affect valuation — and how focusing on these areas helps agencies become stronger, more disciplined, and more valuable.

Creating an Agency Group
James Rose, Rich Bundock, and Barnaby Cook share the messy reality of building an agency group.
From failed deals and distressed acquisitions to founder control, equity models, integration headaches, and red flags, this panel explores what really happens behind the spreadsheet — and what agency owners need to know before buying, selling, or joining a group.
