When Heather Murray first explored AI agents, she hit a wall. 

This wasn’t because she couldn’t build one, but because she realised she simply didn’t want to.

“I’m non-technical. I do not want to learn how to build agents. I’ve tried, and it’s way too hard. I’ve got no interest in JavaScript or APIs,” says Heather, founder of AI for Non-Techies (the clue is in the name).

And crucially, she didn’t need to.

While there’s a whole world out there full of custom GPTs, Zapier integrations, and stitched-together workflows, Heather argues that sometimes, simple is better. 

“There are agents that are prebuilt that are bloody amazing,” she says. “They’re as easy to use as prompting a chatbot.”

To prove the point, she used a prebuilt agent to create four full modules for her latest course in a single weekend.

“That would normally take at least two weeks – and I couldn’t believe the quality. It was thinking of things I hadn’t even considered.”

For Heather, it was a turning point. A shift from building, to partnering – and saving hours better spent elsewhere.

“I want something I can talk to naturally and get decent results from. And if it breaks, I just want to work out how to fix it. That’s all I want to know,” she says.

“You just want it to make your time more useful. If it’s only going to cause more problems, you won’t – and shouldn’t – use it.”
